The design of ACRO toys is based on simple geometric shapes. To introduce new opportunities and unlock those extra dimensions of play, they also incorporate unusual elements often absent in classic sets. These include holes (negative spaces) and a variety of loose parts: sticks, tiles, bridging components, or different-sized balls. These pieces transform a simple building game with even relatively few pieces into numerous construction, balancing, and engineering opportunities.
As we observed children playing, we had the OPLA! moment many times, witnessing how fluidly they switch between different styles of play. While some kids are natural builders and others are storytellers, their play styles are never fixed. They seamlessly shift between constructing intricate designs and diving into imaginative scenarios. The ACRO line embraces this fluidity. Designed to serve as “building blocks” within a construction, the pieces also resemble human figures or houses, making them perfect for small world play scenarios the next moment.
The ACRO sets are designed to be fully functional on their own, yet they can also be easily combined with each other, creating a whole that is even greater than the sum of its parts.
